LAGO LIVE SUNDAY EXPERIENCE
Every Sunday. 3pm to 6pm. Two players, two guitars, one mic. They set up under the pandanus between Dawn and the beach and play through the afternoon into the early evening.
The set is what you’d hope for at that hour – mostly covers, some originals, mostly familiar. The band has been playing the island for years; they know what works at four o’clock and what works at six. By the second set the deck is full and people are dancing in the sand who weren’t planning to.
No cover, no booking. Walk down from the boardwalk or come up from the beach. Order from Dawn if you want coffee and something light; order from Dusk upstairs if you want the bar list and dinner held over until they finish.
Between Dawn and Dusk, the same building, just the open ground between the cafe and the cliff. There’s sand underfoot, pandanus overhead, and the bay in front. The band plays facing in; you sit facing them or facing the water, either way it works.
If you’re already at Dawn for a late lunch, you don’t move. If you’re heading up to Dusk for an early dinner, you stop on the way through. Most people end up doing both.
